There are so many makeup brands and makeup products out there and definitely too little time. Although, that won’t stop me from attempting to try every highlight there is.
On another note, for today’s blog I’ve put together a list of my favourite makeup products and their perfect match, in the form of the Tsok Cosmetics Makeup Brush range.
Let’s start with one of my most loved makeup products…bronzer! Using a bronzer, whether to contour or to attain that sun kissed glow is a must. I love to pair the Mac Cosmetics Minieralise Skinfinish in the shade ‘Give Me Sun’ with my Tsok Cosmetics Pointed Contouring Multi Brush.
Matte bronzer is a perfect contour shade – be sure to stick with a matte bronzer if you want to contour with it. Apply by sweeping across the hollows of your cheeks, your forehead (along the hair line), below your jawline and under your chin (think of drawing a 3 on your face – starting from the top on your hairline, coming in at your cheek bones and sweeping down).
Using the Pointed Contouring brush makes this an absolute cinch (even if you are a beginner). The brush design means the tapered end helps to create a more chiseled, defined look to your face.
I also love to double this brush as a highlight applicator (cleaning between uses). The tapered ends ensures you can hit the high points of your face with an even distribution (brow bone, end of your nose, cheek bones and cupids bow). I’m all about a cream highlight at the moment and find myself switching between the Clinique Chubby stick and the Mac Cosmetics Strobing Creams. Highlighting enables the natural light to bounce off those high points, creating a dewy, luminous look and this brush has got you covered.
My most used and daily go to eyeshadow palette is the Too Faced Chocolate Bons Bons Palette (yes, it smells like chocolate…drool). This palette is the perfect mix of delightful heart-shaped matte and shimmer shades to suit any skin tone or eye colour. I like to create my eyeshadow looks using the Direct Pigment Brush, Shadow Crease Blender Brush and the Rounded Socket Brush (these three are my holy grail!). You won’t know blending until you try this killer trio!!
1. Pop a lighter matte shadow onto the Shader Brush and apply as a transition shade all over the lid
2. Use the Direct Pigment Brush to apply a shimmer shade (pressed or loose pigment) to center of the lid
3. Use the Blender Brush to blend these there two seamlessly and apply another shade to the crease of the lid (if desired)
4. Then blend blend blend with the magic that is the Socket Brush (my personal fav). You can also use this brush to add another shade to the outer corner on the lid…and again, blend blend blend. This brush can also be used to add a little inner corner highlight for that real POP.
For a smoky eye on a glam night out, I use the Smoky Eye Shader Brush to seamlessly blend shadows to the lower lash line. This brush also works well with cream shadows and loose pigments.
Of course, when it comes to applying eye liner, the Eye Line Spooly brush is the star of the show. The spooly is also perfection to tame brows and of course the opposite end can double to apply powder or a pomade to define and shape even the most unruly brow hairs. Pair this brush with my top picks: The Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Liner in the shade ‘Cobalt’ and the famous and fabulous Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pomade.
Lastly, let’s chat about nailing that base. If your base isn’t smooth, even and well applied, the makeup you apply after won’t apply flawlessly.
My ultimate foundation to use in general and to pair with the Stippling Foundation brush (seen above) is the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation. This silky and light-weight formula works absolute wonders when paired with the soft and somewhat dense stippling brush. The fibers work to evenly distribute and sweep the foundation over the entire face. Most importantly, it’s quick and easy to use.
After foundation has been applied, concealer comes next! I like to apply a concealer a few shades lighter than the foundation to really highlight the high points and in particular the under eyes. My current go to is the NARS Radiant Creamy concealer or the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless concealer. The flat concealer brush helps to apply concealer to the important places on your face and is small enough to work into those areas with precision!
You really can’t go wrong pairing any of your makeup must haves with the Tsok brush range. Let me know your favourite products to pair with your Tsok Makeup brushes?
